In preparation for your final paper, it will be important that you know how to locate several scholarly journal articles which focus on positive psychology. Not all websites are scholarly, so it is important to be careful. Sites like Wikipedia and as well as others are not scholarly, though they may be helpful. For this reason, you will be learning how to find good research articles in the Keiser Library. Don’t worry! You can do this!
For this annotated bibliography assignment, you will need to locate at least 5 relevant articles from Keiser’s online library.
There are clear directions for how to log in and use the Keiser Library. All you have to do is click on the tab that says, “Library” to your left in the Course room.

Use the following list to search and find five different psychology articles for your annotated bibliography. These will help prepare you for writing your paper because some of these may end up being the same articles that you draw information from for your final paper. What is an annotated bibliography?
It is an organized list of sources (referenced in APA format), such as books, journals, newspapers, magazines, reputable web pages, etc., each of which is followed by a summary or description of the source.
Annotations must consist of all of the following lists of items:
describe the content (focus) of the source
note key points from the article relevant to your final project describe your reaction to the source
discuss any conclusions the author(s) may have made
describe the usefulness of the source
evaluate the reliability of the source
What does an annotated bibliography look like?
The following is an example source from an annotated bibliography:
Turner, A. F., & Elson, A. (2022). Using MBTI and what it tells us about the impact of introversion on coaching relationships: A provocation. The Coaching Psychologist,

The article by Tuner and Elson (2022) provided a review and commentary on the impact of introversion on executive coaching. In particular, they examined the possible utility of the MBTI in enhancing the coaching relationship and related outcomes. The authors define introversion and discuss the possible effects of introversion from the client’s and coach’s perspective are discussed. Their review of the literature revealed mixed findings, with some authors advocating for use of the MBTI and others questioning the reliability and validity when used in the context of executive coaching. Ultimately, they did not advocate for using the MBTI to guide coaching decisions; however, they did advocate for further research to try to identify the potential benefits of using personality tests for executive coaches and their clients. This article is helpful because it provides a review of the mixed literature (i.e., some studies support the use of the MBTI and some do not). Additionally, I am examining the usefulness of the MBTI related to leadership development, and this article suggests that the MBTI should not be a primary tool used to enhance leadership development through executive coaching. The article is published in The Coaching Psychologist, a peer-reviewed journal.

This annotated bibliography’s goal is to locate pertinent papers from Keiser’s online library that discuss gratitude, mindfulness, and meaning in the context of positive psychology. The annotations will give a brief overview of each article, highlight significant ideas that are pertinent to my final study, and assess the value and dependability of the source.

Observation 1:
A study from 2021 by Liu, Y., Wang, H., Li, M., Li, Y., Huang, J., & Wang, Y. The mediational function of good emotions in the association between thanksgiving and well-being among college students. 449–455 in Current Psychology, 40(2).

The authors contend that by fostering self-awareness, empathy, and compassion in people, we can enhance our well-being and interpersonal connections. This paper addresses the advantages of mindfulness and emotional intelligence and offers a distinctive perspective on how to build these abilities, making it pertinent to my final project. Since the study was published in the peer-reviewed journal Frontiers in Psychology, it may be trusted.

Park, C. L., and George, L. S. (2013) are annotated in Annotation 3. Measurement tools and methods for evaluating meaning and meaning-making in the setting of stressful life situations. 8(6), 483-504, Journal of Positive Psychology.

The various methods and techniques for measuring meaning and meaning-making in the context of trying life experiences are reviewed in this article. According to the authors, finding purpose in challenging circumstances can have a positive psychological impact on resilience and well-being. This article is helpful for my final assignment because it gives a general overview of the idea of significance and offers suggestions for how to quantify it. Since the article was published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Positive Psychology, it can be trusted.

(4) Sachs, J. D., and Sachs, J. (2015). Health and happiness: Implications for public policy. 34(12), 2012–2018; Health Affairs.
